Tues Oct 11 at 1pm, Special Open Mic with Mithrilweaver

Where Epic meets good ole' boy, where Britannia meets the American West is where you find the enigmatic bard and poet, Mithrilweaver. Born dyslexic, tormented by epilepsy and his special form of loneliness, he takes us on a journey into the recesses of the lyrical Labyrinth which is his mind. Gather around the crackle and firelight of campfire, and listen to this master weaver of Myths and legends spin his tales. You WILL be affected by this storyteller's interactive open mic performances. Mithrilweaver's multifaceted performances include the genres of :Poet, lyricist, singer, songwriter, musician; specializing in professional level of delivery of Epic, Gothic, and Texas home-spun flavor with equal ease.

Welcome to the Samhain Festival

The Samhain Festival in SL is a month-long celebrations created and sponsored by Fox Ravenheart and runs from October 3rd through October 31st. This blog is for the literary events to be held at that festival and contains information about those events and its participants. I am Serene Bechir in SL and look forward to seeing you all at the Samhain Festival!

Literary events will be held throughout the festival weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays and also Thur Oct 13 and Sun Oct 21.

Monday events are called Duos and are one hour presentations by either a single person or two people. Each hour will include two components, either two performers or a mix of poetry, prose, storytelling, music or art.

Wednesday events are poetry open mic events called Poetry Circle. Each session will have a host and a featured poet. The featured poet will read at least fifteen minutes but the exact length of their read and the format of each session is determined by the host and featured poet. Everyone is invited to come share poetry in these sessions but please be mindful that this is a PG sim and select your material accordingly.

Thur Oct 13th and Sun Oct 21st are special presentations of Duos with DJ and story teller Fox Ravenheart presenting a mix of seasonal music and stories.

The theme of the event is renewal, the release our regrets and losses in the past and looking forward to a brighter future. Readers are encouraged to keep this theme in mind but are not restricted in any way to those topics. Above all else, this is a time of sharing.
