Fox Ravenheart

Fox Ravenheart—author and historian—will be telling stories story: frightening folklore from around the world & urban legends; Tales of Fey and Fairies; a program on the history of folklore, with a mix of tales.

T. Fox Dunham was born an author, his earliest memories involved a pen and scribbling with ink. Fox is his totem spirit. A historian also, Fox has worked at several museums. He is a fiction author, historian, gardener and live story teller. You can find out more about Fox simply by consulting google or at these links.

Morgue McMillan is a German and joined SecondLife in February 2007.

Her poetry has been published in SLiterary Magazine, Reveal Magazine, AnonLiterary, Vitruvius and Blue Angel Landing. Her poems are written mostly in English, but she has written some in German, too, one of them ("Schicksal" --> Fate) has been published in an Anthology in 2006 at August von Goethe Literaturverlag, not as Morgue McMillan though.

Also she has been acting in SL theatre with "In the Pink" (for vday.org) and Ibsen's "The Lady from the Sea" and "Hedda Gabler" as well as in some shorter productions, and wrote and performed her own play "The Princess and The Pharaoh" in collaboration with Mariner Trilling.

Serene Bechir (aka Juliana Marie)

Serene has been reading poetry across SL since June 2007 and is best known for her improv poetry. She says of herself, "I am only a mirror, the poetry is in each of you." In addition to reading at various open mic events she co-host the Poetry Libre Open Mic. Frequently involved in charity and activist events as well as being a long standing support staff member of the SL music scene, Serene finds poetric expression not only in the words she speaks but in the things she does. Currently co-hosting the Poetry Libre Open Mic at Bookstacks every Sunday at 3pm slt

Welcome to the Samhain Festival

The Samhain Festival in SL is a month-long celebrations created and sponsored by Fox Ravenheart and runs from October 3rd through October 31st. This blog is for the literary events to be held at that festival and contains information about those events and its participants. I am Serene Bechir in SL and look forward to seeing you all at the Samhain Festival!

Literary events will be held throughout the festival weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays and also Thur Oct 13 and Sun Oct 21.

Monday events are called Duos and are one hour presentations by either a single person or two people. Each hour will include two components, either two performers or a mix of poetry, prose, storytelling, music or art.

Wednesday events are poetry open mic events called Poetry Circle. Each session will have a host and a featured poet. The featured poet will read at least fifteen minutes but the exact length of their read and the format of each session is determined by the host and featured poet. Everyone is invited to come share poetry in these sessions but please be mindful that this is a PG sim and select your material accordingly.

Thur Oct 13th and Sun Oct 21st are special presentations of Duos with DJ and story teller Fox Ravenheart presenting a mix of seasonal music and stories.

The theme of the event is renewal, the release our regrets and losses in the past and looking forward to a brighter future. Readers are encouraged to keep this theme in mind but are not restricted in any way to those topics. Above all else, this is a time of sharing.
